Project 2                 Pre-Anestesia Clinic

  • Fit-out of 5,000 s.f. of hospital space for the Pre-Anesthesia Clinic,
    Anesthesiologist on-call room, computer training area, physicians' offices and administration space. Required PA DOH approval.

Project 3                 Nurses Station

  • Renovation of 5th floor nurses station and creation of subwaiting space.
  • The space required PA DOH approval.
  • Completed: October, 2002 - Construction Cost: $30,000

Project 4                 Catheterization Holding Facility

  • Preliminary design for the renovation of 2,500 s.f. of existing cardiology office space into a new 10-bed heart catheterization holding facility.
  • The space included a nurses; station, soiled and clean utility spaces, medical gases. The space required PA DOH approval.  
  • Estimated Completion date: On hold

Project 5                Radiology Department Reorganization

  • Department-wide reorganization study of the hospital's 34,000 s.f. in-patient and  out-patient diagnostic and interventional radiology facility.
  • The facility includes a new radiology reading room with PACS capability, a new radiology holding area with monitored beds, litter space and wheelchair space. The facility also includes          mammography, fluoroscopy, digital radiology, angiography, nuclear medicine,  C.T., X-ray, urology, ultrasound, etc., as well as cesium storage, patient and staff dressing areas, department offices, conference spaces, computer rooms, film storage, new outpatient reception/waiting area, and staff lounge space.
  • The facility must meet PA DOH requirements and will completed in a phased construction schedule.
  • Design Completion Date: June 2005 – Est Construction Cost: $3,000,000
     

Project 6               Pharmacy Relocation

  • Research and schematic design for temporary pharmacy relocation.
  • Design was for 1200 s.f. of space, design included Class 100 clean room design with multiple biological safety cabinets

Project 7                Renal Dialysis

  • Renal Dialysis renovation for Reverse Osmosis water purification system. New 120 s.f.  RO water system room. 12 station RO loop in Renal Dialysis unit.
  • Completion - June 1, 2004 - Estimated Construction Cost - $200,000

Project 8                Mens Toilet Room

  • Renovations to provide new handicapped-accessible men's toilet serving the vicinity of the hospital cafeteria.
  • Design completion - April, 2004 - Estimated Construction Cost - $50,000

Project 9                Physical Therapy Storage

  • Renovations to 1,300 s.f. physical therapy storage facility.
  • Design completion - August, 2004 - Estimated Construction Cost - $15,000

 

Project 10              PACS, Nuclear Camera, Ultrasound Renovations

  • Renovations to 3,150 s.f. of existing radiology space to allow for the installation of a new nuclear camera suite, a new, state-of-the-art PACS Reading Room suite, new Ultrasound facilities and the office for the head of Radiology Department.
  • Work included creating functional workspace within existing radiology vaults, complete gutting and renovation of some spaces, new casework, new ceiling, finishes, and placement of new equipment.
  • Work proceeded while allowing remainder of department to continue to function without disruption.
  • Design completion - 2004 - Estimated Construction Cost - $500,000

 

Project 11              Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory 1

  • Renovations to 515 s.f. cardiac catheterization lab to allow for the installation of a new GE Innova 2000 Digital Cardiovascular Imaging system.
  • Work included modifications to casework, new ceiling, finishes, placement of new equipment, and modifications to the adjacent control room.
  • Design completion - December, 2004 - Estimated Construction Cost - $100,000

 

Project 12              Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory 4

  • Renovations to 900 s.f. area including cardiac catheterization lab, control room and office.
  • Design to allow for the installation of a new GE Innova 2000 Digital Cardiovascular Imaging system.
  • Work included modifications to casework, new ceiling, finishes, placement of new equipment.
  • Design completion - May, 2005 - Estimated Construction Cost - $230,000

 

Project 13            5th Floor West Nurses Station/Clean Utilities Storage

  • Included feasibility study of options of a series of changes on the floor including changes to the nurses station, med storage, soiled and clean utilities etc.
  • Design of changes to nurses station, clean utilities storage.
  • Design completion - April, 2005 - Estimated Construction Cost - $40,000

 

Project 14            Renal Dialysis Nurses Station and Renovations

  • Included feasibility study of options for a new nurses station, new lighting for renal dialysis treatment area, and the installation of individual armature-mounted televisions for use by the patients.
  • Design of changes to nurses station, clean utilities storage.
  • Design completion - on hold- Estimated Construction Cost - $35,000

 

Project 15          Corridor Renovations

  • Renovations to 130 s.f. of intensive care/cardiac care corridor to change the worn 1970's institutional look to a warmer feel, whole improving the ability of the space to take the wear of heavy gurney traffic.
  • Work involved the addition of doors and signage to aid in controlling access and directing the public.
  • Design completion - June, 2005 - Estimated Construction Cost - $76,000

 

Project 16          Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory 2

  • Renovations to 750 s.f. cardiac catheterization lab and control room space to allow for the installation of a new GE Innova 2100 Digital Cardiovascular Imaging system.
  • Work included modifications to casework, new ceiling, finishes, placement of new equipment, and modifications to the adjacent control room.
  • Completion - January, 2006 - Construction Cost - $180,000

 

Project 17          Corridor/Toilet Room Renovations

  • Renovations to 1750 s.f. of three existing Corridor space to upgrade the finishes and remove the aged appearance and existing damage.
  • Work included renovations to two existing toilet facilities, totaling 275 s.f. to remove the aged appearance of the finishes.
  • The work was designed to be completed in a phased manner to aid in circulation and infection control.
  • Completion - spring, 2006 - Construction Cost - $190,000

 

Project 18          Radiology Lounge/Offices

  • Renovations to 600 s.f. of existing space to allow for a physicians lounge and a shared office space.
  • Completion - spring, 2006 - Construction Cost - $50,000

 

Project 19         Computerized Tomographic Imaging Suite

  • Renovations to 1,000 s.f. of existing radiology spaces for a new Computerized Tomographic Imaging suite, including the CT room, control room, storage space and corridor gurney parking alcove.
  • Completion - September, 2006 - Construction Cost - $600,000

 

Project 20        Operatory Renovations to four Existing Facilities

  • Renovations to four widely separated existing operatories in the main operatory suite, totaling 2,300 s.f.
  • Work will include upgrading of finishes, new surgical lights and ceiling-mounted anesthesia booms.
  • Design will allow for the work to be completed in a phase manner.
  • Completion - September, 2007 - Construction Cost - $500,000

     

Project 21         Renovations to two Operatories

  • Renovations to two separated existing operatories, comprising 1,350 s.f. in the main operatory suite.

  • First operatory is a dedicated cardiac O.R. equipped with five ceiling-mounted booms for surgical lights, anesthesia, digital camera, perfusion monitors, etc.
  • Second operatory is for general surgical use, equipped with surgical light boom, and anesthesia boom, digital camera, etc.
  • Work includes the renovation of a substerile room adjacent to the general surgical O.R.
  • Work includes upgrading of finishes, and the installation of AV documentation center
  • Completion - Fall, 2007 - Construction Cost - $400,000

 

Project 22         Renovations to Psychiatric Wing

  • Conversion of two existing spaces (425 s.f.) into patient rooms.
  • An existing dayroom was renovated into a double patient room.
  • An existing assisted toilet/bath facilities was renovated into a single patient room.
  • All equipment chosen for use in the room had to be suicide and vandal resistant.
  • Rooms equipped with wicket door for emergency staff access.
  • Completion - March, 2007 - Construction Cost - $158,000

 

Project 23         Renovations for New Digital Radiography Room #1

  • Preliminary design for the conversion of an existing X-ray room and adjacent toilet room into a new 365 s.f. digital radiography room.
  • creation of a new control area.
  • Coordinated with GE Medical Systems on placement of new equipment..
  • Design Completed - Spring, 2007 - Estimated Construction Cost - $300,000

 

Project 24          Invasive Service Lounge and Storage

  • Renovations of existing EP Lab and storage to create a new 950 s.f. lounge for the Heart Catheterization and Electrophysiology Departments.
  • Renovations of current lounge into a 200 s.f. storage facility within Cath Lab core.
  • Lounge facility design with meeting and seminar AV capabilities.
  • Completion - Fall, 2007 - Construction Cost - $150,000

 

Project 25          Renovations to General Radiology Room #2

  • Renovation of existing 260 s.f. radiology room to create a new digital chest room and control area.
  • Completion - Winter, 2007 - Construction Cost - $150,000

Project 26          Programming Analysis for Cardio-Thoracic Practice

  • Programming analysis of existing 3,200 practice to determine if desired changed can be completed within the existing facility.
  • Completion - Spring, 2007

 

Project 27          Renovations to CT Suite

  • Feasability study for the renovation of existing 1,200 s.f. CT Suite to create a 64 slice C.T. Suite.
  • The existing two scan room facility was altered to create a single scan room, patient holding facility, computer image processing and control room.
  • Completion - Spring, 2008 - Estimated Construction Cost - $600,000

Project 28          Information Services

  • Renovation of 600 s.f. of divided office space to allow for open office plan for seven (7) people and a kitchenette..
  • Completion - Fall, 2007 - Construction Cost - $50,000
Project 29          Renovations to O.R. #12
  • Conversion of an existing 700 s.f. operatory into a cardiac operatory.
  • O.R. was provided with new ooverhead 5-boom equipment system for anesthesia, perfusion, surgical lights, digital camera, etc.
  • Work included upgrades to room finishes and lighting.
  • Completion - Spring, 2008 - Construction Cost - $200,000

     

Project 30        Renovations for Pharmacy, Lounge, Women's Locker                          Room, and Sewing/Laundry Facility
  • Design for the conversion of an existing 2,150 s.f. of storage to house other facilities. .
  • Facilities included a 250 s.f. Women's Locker Room space, 300 s.f. Lounge, 450 s.f. Pharmacy space and 1,150 s.f. Sewing/Laundry Facility.
  • Spring, 2008 - Construction Cost - $60,000

Project 31       Renovations of a Ground Floor Women's Locker Room

  • Design for the renovation of an existing 425 s.f. toilet Room Facility.
  • Two showers were added, one accessible.
  • An accessible toilet stall and accessible lavatories were added.
  • Finishes and lighting were upgraded and new counters added.
  • Estimated Completion - Fall, 2008 - Estimated Construction Cost - $40,000

Project 32       Trauma OR

  • Conversion of two existing operatories into a single 740 s.f. dedicated trauma operatory. The trauma O.R. is one of the few dedicated trauma operatories in the midatlantic states area.
  • O.R. was provided with new, overhead 4-boom equipment system for anesthesia, surgical lights, digital camera, perfusion, etc., placed in a manner to allow for multiple specialized surgical teams to operate on one patient simultaneously.
  • HVAC system designed to allow for the rapid heating of the room if patient is in shock or compromised in other ways.
  • Work also included two new toilet facilities and storage alcoves, new core systems, finishes, etc.
  • Estimated Completion - Fall, 2008 - Estimated Construction Cost - $600,000
